Our building has been the heart of downtown Carlsbad for more than seventy years.
Candlewood is located in the HC Kerr building, in Carlsbad’s Historic Main Street District. Since 1941, the building has housed Werthem Furniture, Parchman Carver Hardware, Carlsbad’s Centennial Museum, LA Boutique and Anne’s Hallmark, all businesses that have served Carlsbad well. Today, Candlewood Cards and Gifts, owned by Elaine Mead Murphy, H.C. Kerr’s granddaughter, helps the community as well.
We help the people celebrate milestones, like birthdays, weddings, and anniversaries. We help them to honor relatives, teachers, policemen and firemen, and the soldiers who protect our way of life. We help them laugh at life’s absurd moments—and at themselves.
